CHAKRA MEDITATION
[Colour Visualization for Chakras]
TAKE YOUR TIME. Relax your mind and let any thoughts float up into the atmosphere like beautiful balloons which gently disperse. Focus your concentration on your body. Use your mind to work down through your body beginning at your head and progressing to your feet while gently letting go of tension - feel yourself start to relax.
Imagine a ring of light that contains a cross of light. Think of your chakras and starting from the top [the crown chakra] visualize the ring and cross of light working as a golden key to 'open' each chakra in turn. Exhale slowly, close your eyes and follow the story in your mind's eye:

"I walk into an empty market place on a sunny afternoon. It seems strange there's no one to see me. I am drawn to a church at the end of the square. The door of the church leads down into a deep crypt where a red eternal flame burns in front of an altar. I sit and allow this red flame to take me inside its strength and power. I remain there experiencing its feeling of life energy and as I bask in the flame, an image of God, the father, comes to mind.
After a while I stand up and walk up a few steps to a hall where a light shines orange. Many people are dancing and moving - there is joy and laughter here. I pass through unnoticed and a flight of stairs leads me up into the main aisle of the church. These vaults reflect a yellow light - it feels lonely, almost empty - it all seems so detached. I can't stay there long and I look for an exit. I find a door behind another altar which leads into a grassy field. The green restores my balance and I walk on the grass towards a forest. As I enter the forest I notice the colour under the leaves of the trees is turquoise - fresh, pure and making me immune from any kind of influence. Everything feels so new.
I walk through the forest and stand before a blue lake. The blue hills across the water fill me with peace - relaxing me and making me very calm. As I look across the lake, I notice a beautiful being bathed in violet light gliding across the water towards me. I am overcome with a dignity I have not experienced before. In the being's hands burns a beautiful magenta/pink flame. This flame is fluid and ethereal in nature [it lets go of all density and substance]. The figure does not change in size as it nears me but the flame does - its size and strength increase and uplift me, filling me with respect [not just for this being but also for myself]. Now the being stands before me and speaks in a clear and beautiful language: "You are to take this light and carry it in your heart - it is the light of pure love. Let go of all past burdens. Take this light into your everyday life and give it to all you meet."
I accept this light, naturally and without hesitation - this love has no conditions or strings attached to it. While it is still in the hands of this being I recognize the being as my higher self [pure, free of burden and of complete love]. I feel as if I am giving myself permission to go back into the world as I watch the being retreat across the lake and at the same time I am also aware that it will come again should I call. The words, "World without end", sound within me.
The flame in my hands glows brightly and penetrates the blue of the lake, sharing this cool relaxing peace. I walk back through the forest - the trees and shrubs smile as I share my flame of love. My love is a very pure, very light magenta - almost white. I am not alone any more. I am suddenly aware of life in the area as it moves towards me - the grasses, the flowers, the animals come to me as I cross the green fields and I share my love with them. I return to the church where the yellow arches are still detached but they seem to shine now as if they were golden - they absorb my flame of love as I pass through. I descend into the orange hall and offer my flame of pure magenta to the people who come to me - passing on a flame to each. I say to them, "Share your flame always - share it or else it will expire." The dancers each begin to dance with their individual lights of love and somehow it all seems so natural.
Now I descend into the crypt, where I again accept the red of the life energy which resides in the base of my being. In this energy we create the future children to maintain the earth and its life. I suddenly realize my 'pink' flame of love is not just in my hands but penetrating all the cells of my body - leaving nothing untouched.
Humbly [but with pride] I ascend the stairs and enter the market place which is now busy with many stalls. I go to the holder of each stall and share with them my light of love. I am suddenly aware that the light in my hands is only the center of a vast radiance which is all around me and the light radiates with increasing strength each time I share it."

At the end of the story, take a deep breath and bring your thoughts back into your body. Return to the vision of yourself as you were before closing your eyes but feeling better, more relaxed and happier. Visualize once again a ring of golden light that contains a cross of golden light. Think of your chakras once more and starting at the top, visualize the ring and cross acting as a key and 'close' each chakra in turn. This protects you from the shock of reentering your normal state of consciousness. Now slowly return to your normal waking state as you breathe deeply.
